There were several crashes, spread out through all the catagories. I cant really give you results because i dont know who won. But i can tell you how the AAVC Cat 4s did. We raced pretty smart, for a while. We helped at the front, but didnt do too much work. Most of us avoided crashes, Jeff got taken down in the last of three crashes in our feild. When it came down to the final 2K Roger attacked, and we thought we could make it a winning move, so Scott, Ben, and I jumped and the four of us got a gap on the peloton. But we went about 20 seconds to early. We all cracked at about the 150m mark. So we ended up in the back of the peloton. We agreed that had we done it right, one of us would have won, and all 4 of us would have been top 10. o well we learned.
Hi, I'm James, and some call me Bike Boy because I love cycling. I moved to Arizona in 2009 from Michigan. This is a blog about cycling and life in general.
Peleton- The main group(pack) of riders in a ride or race Attack- An acceleration by a rider, who is attempting to break away Bridging the gap- Making an attack or effort in an attempt to catch up to the lead group or breakaway Domestique- A rider who rides in the support of his or her team leader. Blocking- An attempt to slow the main field so that a breakaway will succeed. Pulling- Going to the front of a group, controlling the pace and blocking the wind for the rest of the group. Ripping someone's legs off- Beating someone in a race, by a lot.
